Review: Uteeqe Pickleball Paddle Set
Hey Pickle People here’s another review!
Today I am reviewing the Uteeqe Pickleball Paddle Set! This is one of the more highly rated paddles out there on amazon and so I thought I would give them a shot (hopefully it is not a dropshot haha) Here is my honest review of the set as a whole. I know I haven’t been posting as much recently, but I hope to get back into the game more now that I have more time.
Anyway, now into the review!
Power: 8/10
I really liked the power on this paddle, maybe it was the feel, maybe it was the sound, but I thought the ball came off very nicely with a lot of “pop”. This is a polymer core/ nomex type paddle so be ready to have a more solid feeling paddle with a little more of an audible sound when you hit it. Of course this also depends on the balls you use, but using the Dura 40 pickleballs, the ball was really flying off the paddle.
Control: 6/10
For an entry level paddle I was very pleased with the control of this paddle. The only problem I have as with most of the entry level paddles is the slick surface. I love to spin the ball and with the slick surface sometimes it seems like I am not able to get the full potential out of my spin shots. Although not the most ideal, it will get the job done and no huge complaints here.
Forgiveness: 6/10
I thought this paddle was a bit slicker and made for a little less forgiveness at the net. This combined with the pretty hard core material will make some balls get away from you at the front of the net. In a dink situation it is really great if you can get the feel for the paddle early, but I think this paddle excels more in the back of the court game and poach finishes.
Overall: 20/30
Overall Solid Paddle
Great Pop
Solid Control
This is a great pick up and play paddle. One thing that I did not talk about too much is the nice weight it has. It is around 7.8oz which is on the lighter side of the entry level paddle spectrum. This means if you are not as strong in the arm, this paddle might be better suited for you. I this this paddle is the whole package and although it is missing some forgiveness and control from the more expensive paddles. This paddle can definitely compete with the best of them
As for the balls, they are very average ball’s but they get the job done. They make great back up balls if you need them and so far have been playable in our most recent games.
