Review: NewFit Blur Graphite Paddle

Hey Pickle People heres another review!

I was getting a lot of questions on my opinions on the lower priced paddles, so I decided to buy a bunch of them and test them out! This is my review of the NewFit Blur Graphite Paddle and my overall impression of the performance, playability and the overall comfort of the paddle. I chose this paddle based on the hundreds of great reviews and I think the design is nice and simple. I played with it for a couple weekends (~20 games) and I hope to give my best review of this paddle!

Power: 7/10

When you pick it up, this paddle does not feel like it would have that much power, but it has great power all over the court and has really surprising put away power. It feels a little bit lighter than other paddles, but I got an 8.0oz and I think the feel is due to a difference in weight distribution. I really loved the power and although it is not elite, it is definitely no joke.

Control: 7/10

I think this is the best paddle I have tried in terms of ball control in this $40 - $50 price range. I love the softer feel of the paddle and it can really do close or far control. I think that control is something lost in some of the more budget paddles and I’m glad that NewFit was able to retain some more control aspects in to their paddle. Although nowhere near the Selkirk or even the Paddletek bantam, I do think this is a step up from the niupipo or the Rally Flare.

Forgiveness: 7/10

The forgiveness of this paddle can give a player confidence when hitting shots and that is something I like about this paddle and that is usually lost in some of the cheaper paddles. Having a paddle that is more forgiving allows a player to play to their full potential without worrying about the ball going in or out. I think this paddle is one of the most forgiving for the budget paddles and I really liked that I would play almost any shot and be able to hit it with confidence and not in fear that I would hit a dead spot in the paddle.

Overall: 21/30

  • Light and powerful

  • Forgiving for the price

  • Average control

This is one of the top budget paddles out there. The one interesting thing is in the hand it feels pretty light and cheap, but when you are playing with it it feels very nice in all aspects of the game and you are really able to play your game to the fullest potential. I was not expecting this to be such a nice find, but I have been very happy with the paddle thus far. I will definitely recommend this paddle to my friends who are looking for a nice entry paddle for themselves or even their kids.
