Review: Rally Flare Graphite Paddle

Hey Pickle People heres another review!

I was getting a lot of questions on my opinions on the lower priced paddles, so I decided to buy a bunch of them and test them out! Rally has had a great reputation over the years for creating exceptional beginner and mid tier paddles, so I was very excited to try this one out. This is my review of the Rally Flare Graphite Paddle and my overall impression of the performance, playability and the overall comfort of the paddle.

Power: 7/10

This paddle is a bit thinner and lighter than the other beginner paddles I have reviewed, but it does have a considerable amount of pop when you hit far shots, or put away shots. Because it is lighter it is a little easier to get the head speed where you want it to really get power behind the shot. In terms of compared to the higher priced paddles out there, it is a small step behind in terms of power, but definitely still has that finishing power.

Control: 6/10

This paddle offers a little more control than the other paddles around this price because it is a little lighter and easier to maneuver where you want the ball to go. This is by no means a Tempest pro or an X5, but it is a step up from the Niupipo or the Nenrent. I wouldn’t expect to have tons of control, but I would think that the everyday pickleballer would like the increase in control.

Forgiveness: 6/10

The Rally Flare is a more forgiving than the other similarly priced paddles, but still is hindered from the harder polymer core and the graphite face. It is a little bit more nimble and forgiving because the ball does not fly off the face like the heavier paddles, but I would not expect to have this paddle save some of your miss-hit shots.

Overall: 19/30

  • Light and powerful

  • More forgiving for price

  • Average control

This is definitely a great all around beginner paddle and I think that this paddle can really be a winner for many years to come because of its ability to play all around without too many downsides. Just remember this is more of a budget paddle, so don’t expect it to be this best in every category, but it will do just a little bit of everything for you and should complement and improve your game and you improve.
